I have spent 5 years restoring a fantastic Marieholm26 Folkboat. I took a sabbatical year and enjoy this sailing adventure and it was a really a fantastic adventure. When I came back I sold Dreamer, Now  days Dreamer is happily sailing across the atlantic ocean with his new owner..With a stroke of luck I found Hallberg-Rassy 312 for sale, and after buying this new hallberg rassy 312, I decided to restore everything properly, because my future plan will be a liveaboard and set sail for the great seas. Dreamer dopo la stagione estiva è ritornato alla base. Con un po’ di fantasia ho preparato i supporti per il cagnaro in modo da poter muovermi agilmente dentro il pozzetto e in modo da poter cambiare gli ombrinali evitando che la pioggia mi allaghi la sentina.
Vi lascio un po’ di foto…

Dreamer after the summer season he returned to the base. With a little fantasy I made the supports for the cover so I can move easily inside the cockpit and so I can change the scuppers avoiding me that the rain from flooding the bilge.

Con sommo piacere ho l’onore di presentarVi WILSON! La nuova mascotte di Dreamer.
Chi è Wilson? vi chiederete.. Wilson  e nientemeno che un bicchiere di plastica che ho trovato sopra la coperta di Dreamer quando questo arrivò dal Portogallo. All’inizio volevo liberarmene ma non so per qual motivo (scaramantico?!?!) l’ho lasciato libero lì nella coperta e lui  ha condiviso con me tutte le imprecazione, tutti i problemi e i momenti di gioia  durante i lavori di restauro di Dreamer. Mi ci sono affezionato ..e alla fine parlavo con lui.. AH AH AH!!!
Ora è in bella mostra dentro Dreamer e mi accompagnerà in tutte le navigazioni!!
Benvenuto WILSONNNNNNNN!!!!! 

With great pleasure I have the honor to present WILSON! The new mascot of Dreamer.
Who is Wilson?.. Wilson and none other than a plastic cup that I found on the deck of Dreamer when it arrived from Portugal. At first I wanted rid of it but I do not know for what reason (superstitious?!?!) I left it free on the deck  and he has shared with me all the curse, all the problems and the moments of joy during the restoration of Dreamer . I am fond of us .. and finally I spoke with him .. AH AH AH!
It is now  inside Dreamer and accompany me in all the navigations!
Welcome WILSONNNNNNNN!!

Mi scuso per non aver aggiornato il blog ma ultimamente sono super impegnato con Dreamer per prepararlo per la stagione estiva ormai alle porte!
Oggi ho cambiato i passacavi sulla tuga. Logicamente come sempre nulla fila liscio al primo colpo..infatti con gli anni le infiltrazioni d’acqua hanno creato qualche problemino. Ma nessun problema, ormai convivo con i problemi e le relative soluzioni. Infatti ho ri-forato creando dei fori piu’ grandi prontamente riempiti prima di epossidica e poi di epossidica piu’ microfibre minerali. Risultato: tuga piu’ resistente a prova d’acqua!! ottimo lavoro inclusa la sostituzione dei passacavi piu’ professionali e garantiti waterproof!

I apologize for not updating my blog but I’m super busy with Dreamer to prepare him for the summer season that is just around the corner!
Today I changed the deck cable glands on the deck. Logically, as always, nothing goes smoothly the first time .. in fact the infiltration of water have created some problems. But no problem, now I’m living with the problems and their solutions. In fact I re-drilled the holes creating more ‘big holes and promptly filled with epoxy and just after with the epoxy and micro minerals fibers. Result: deckhouse more ‘durable water-proof! Excellent work including the replacement of the gland more ‘professional and guaranteed waterproof!

Bella sorpresa! Nice Present!

Accidenti, per fortuna oggi pulendo il pozzetto mi sono accorto di un bel problema, risciaquando con l’acqua questa non è scesa per gli ombrinali di scarico come dovrebbe, ma è entrata direttamente in sentina.. 20 litri d’acqua. Per fortuna Dreamer ha la pompa di sentina manuale in pozzetto e così di buona lena mi sono messo a pompare… Risultato: ad ogni pompata si udiva un fischio come si sente quando uno è malato di enfisema polmonare. Accidenti fessurata pure quella.
Imprecazioni varie e alla fine cambiati 3 tubi a regola d’arte spiralati in acciaio!! Per fortuna Dreamer è arrivato via terra perchè se quello che me l’ha venduta la portava via mare… alla prima ondata in pozzetto bye bye Dreamer!!

Damn, today when I cleaned the cockpit, I noticed a big problem,
When I rinse with water it was not drain down on the scuppersdrain as it should, but it entered directly into the bilge .. 20 liters of water. Fortunately Dreamer has the manual bilge pump in cockpit and at a good pace so I started to pump … Result: Each time i pumped you hear a whistle how it feels when one is ill with emphysema.
Damn cracked even that! At the end I changed 3 hoses. Fortunately Dreamer arrived by land because  who sold me the boat and took  her by sea to Italy… with in the first wave in the cockpit… bye bye Dreamer!

I lavori proseguono costantemente! – Works still going on!

EccoVi qua, nonostante non abbia aggiornato il blog in questa ultima settimana i lavori su Dreamer non sono mai interrotti, anzi corrono come il vento per finire giusto per la bella stagione. Ci sonno moltissime cose da fare, da finire, da rifinire e da correggere. Tutto tra questo la cucina e la ghiacciaia. Sembra strano ma purtroppo quando si rimontano mobili anche se rispetti al millesimo forme, fori, dimensioni, stai tranquillo che poi devi combattere per far combaciare tutto quanto. Oggi finalmente ho finito di rimontare la cucina. Inoltre mi sono dedicato all’impianto elettrico aggiungendo canaline per i cavi del caricabatteria e installato il caricabatterie. Naturalemente per fare questo ho smontato mezza barca!!! L’inesperienza!!! Comunque tutto procede e Vi posto alcune foto. Alla prossima!


There you are, despite not having updated the blog this last week, works on Dreamer are never interrupted, but they are still going fast like the wind ,right for the summer. There is a lot to do, to finish, to re-finish and fix, especially for the galley and icebox. Could be seems strange, but unfortunately when you go back even if it respects the vintage furniture shapes, holes, size, then rest assured that you have to fight to match everything.

Today I finally finished the galley refit. I also spent time to adding the electrical conduits for the cables of the battery charger and  installed it. Logically to do this… I removed half of the boat! The inexperience! However, everything goes and I post some pictures.

Oggi neve!

Ma non mi fermo! D’altronde Cris mi ha appena riverniciato i mobili! Sono pronto e via a rimontare il tutto.

Ho cambiato anche alcune viti in ottone dei vecchi mobili per sostituirle con l’acciaio.

Tutto procede liscio eccetto il fatto che devo ritoccare molte volte le sedute di prua in quando ho rafforzato le flange in vetroresina e lo spessore che si è creato gioca a mio sfavore.

Cablato tutta la barca portando i fili elettrici ovunque…non si sa mai.

Sono distrutto ma Felice!!!! Dreamer sta’ rinascendo più bella di prima!


Today the snow!

But I do not stop! Besides, Chris has just repainted the furniture! I’m ready and go to reassemble everything.

I changed also some brass screws of old furniture and replacing them with steel screws.

Everything is going smoothly except that I have to sand several times the wood pieces along the cabin..( I reinforced the bow flanges with fiberglass and thickness that has been created play against me.)

Wired all the boat carrying the wires everywhere … you never know.

I’m devastated but Happy! Dreamer is’ reborn more beautiful than before!
